I see UCONN came out as a 6.5 favorite over ISU, take ISU. This is a bet the mortgage weekend with that kind of line. The line has dropped a full point within an hour and a half of the line going out.
This is really a line to play and win big on. ISU packs a defense and has an offensive line that will be top tier in the Big 12. These two areas can cover a lot of mistakes in other areas of the team. FG kicking is a big issue for ISU.
I have always felt I did well picking winners against the spread, straight up as well as over/under totals for wins and points for college football. My attempt with this blog is to record my picks right or wrong for the world to see. Unfortunately I cannot legally gamble in my state so I hope to help others and maybe they will return some of their winnings to me. :)

2011 College football is here! Week 2 9-10-11
Sorry I missed week one folks, I was at the hospital with my wife, we had our second son! He was a big boy, 9lbs 8 oz, he's already had 4 scholarship offers to BCS conferences. :)
I think the second week of college football is one of the best of the season. There are some great non conference matchups across the board. Obviously these are some we are going to hit.
I will pick 5 games each week and upload an excel spreadsheet to keep track of how well I do, I hope I do well. The odds I used are from today at vegasinsider.com the MGM Grand spreads.
Here are my 5 for the week:
Notre Dame is at Michigan and I believe it is the first ever night game in Ann Arbor. Notre Dame is -3.5, wrong team is favored, Michigan wins this game outright.
South Carolina is on the road at Georgia, is Mark Richt gone if he loses this game? SC is -3, I feel comfortable with this pick. SC will cover, a possible double digit win on the road in the SEC which is a big deal.
Alabama is -9.5 at Penn St, Penn St is not good and has not been for awhile. To be honest, Penn St may not make a bowl game this season. Roll tide, 'Bama wins by 20.
Iowa State hosts Iowa in the battle for the Cy-Hawk tropy. After the disastrous unveiling of a new trophy, the teams are ready to meet on the field. Iowa is favored by 7 on the road. ISU beat Northern Iowa by 1 in week one. This was going minus 3 in the TO ratio, starting a new QB, having multiple injuries and 3 suspensions before the game started. Everyone is back for ISU except DL Maggitt who is out for the season. Iowa State wins OUTRIGHT, 24-16.
The final game of the week is Stanford at Duke. Stanford is favored by 21, I think Stanford more than covers, even with a new coach. Duke lost to an FCS school last week, another long season for the Blue Devils.
Good luck everyone, remember, the more you bet the more you win!

NFL Week 14
I did not have a good week last week, I will edit this post and update totals later.
I wanted to throw out my NFL picks. I have a 4 team parlay in Vegas this weekend so I will use those games.
I have the following:
Indy -3
Atlanta -7
Chicago +3
Baltimore -3
I feel pretty good about these!

College week 14 and NFL week 13
Football season is winding down, doesn't it feel like it just started?
Championship week in college with a few potential exciting games. My overall record is 21-23. Next season I will start at the beginning of the year. Early on is the best time to cash in on the spreads.
Once again I will be using vegasinsider.com MGM Grand.
Cincy is -1 @ home vs. Pitt. I think Pitt gets the win here. They need to build momentum for the bowl season and next season.
Northern Illinois is -14.5 in the MAC championship game. Take Northern Illinois, they have had an outstanding season and really have it put together.
OU is -6.5 vs. Nebbie in the Big 12 championship game. Kind of fitting these two teams meet to decide the last Big 12 champion. (in this current league) I think OU runs all over Nebbie, I think this will be a double digit win for OU.
On to the NFL from vegasinsider.com MGM Grand.
Indy is -5.5 at home vs. Dallas. Manning is going to get out of his funk and I would expect a big hurt to be laid on the Cowboys. Take Indy and the points.
KC is -8.5 at home vs. Denver. Denver is swirling down the drain, KC is hitting their stride. A little revenge has to be entering into the minds of the Chiefs. Take KC and the points.
