The people of New Jersey voted themselves the right to bet on sports as long as the federal government lifts the ban. I think it is a step in the right direction in allowing personal freedoms to triumph in the US.
In my homestate of Iowa we are seeing a movement which would allow betting on horses at Prairie Meadows which is near Des Moines via the internet. Along with this a study is going to be conducted that would allow intrastate poker. Again, this is a win for personal freedoms and the 98% of responsible players out there.
